How is IGS Energy able to procure natural gas if it is not a gas
marketer and doesn't own pipelines?
IGS Energy owns firm (uninterrupted) natural gas transportation
rights on the Southern Natural and Transco pipelines. This
provides shippers with the capacity to move natural gas on a
firm basis from primary receipt points to primary delivery
points to ensure that the gas gets to market.
IGS Energy also maintains a network of producer and supplier
relationships that ensures reliable, competitively priced
natural gas supply and capacity. The large aggregate volumes we
move on the interstate pipelines allow us to benefit from
economies of scale and purchase natural gas at highly
competitive prices.
